Thanks to recent funding from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation (GMF), PSL is able to continue fulfilling its mission of building healthy and strong families by enhancing the ability of parents and guardians to meet life’s challenges. GMF's generous grant supports the continuation and expansion of our highly effective Parent Cafés, Monthly Family events and Parent Peer Support (PPS) services.
PSL's Parent Cafés (2-3 times/month)
PSL's Parent Cafés provide safe and welcoming "drop-in" discussions for parents who are seeking support, advocacy and self-empowerment on their recovery journey. Certified Peer Specialists lead small group conversations, which build community, develop peer-to-peer relationships, and facilitate real transformation and healing within families. Light refreshments are served.
Monthly Family Events
PSL hosts monthly get-togethers to increase protective factors (parental resilience, social connections, etc.) for families experiencing mental health needs. The structured events bring families together to share knowledge of parenting and child development and provide support for the social and emotional competence of children.
Parent Peer Support (PPS)
PSL provides ongoing one-on-one Parent Peer Support services to parents who have attended Parent Café or family events. Certified Peer Specialists utilize their own lived experience to engage, connect, and support the wellness and recovery of individuals with mental health and substance use needs.

Through Project Wise, PSL equips teens with decision-making tools and peer support to resist peer pressure. Using the Wyman Teen Outreach Program, we foster resilience and community among youth through a specialized curriculum facilitated by trained individuals.
